Known simply as Burleigh to locals, this beautiful stretch of sand is popular with both swimmers as the beach is patrolled year round, and surfers for its world-famous break. Even when other beaches on the Gold Coast are choppy, the protection of Burleigh Headland offers a great place for a dip, and when the surfs up it’s not uncommon to see keen surfers literally jogging to the point anxious not to miss out on a single wave. The Burleigh foreshore is fringed with a grassy strip and beautiful Norfolk pines. Children’s play parks are dotted alongside the ocean pathway, and well-maintained community bbqs and amenities create the perfect spot for a picnic with family or friends.
Echo Beach and Burleigh Headland National Park
A stay at Burleigh Heads is not complete without a walk around Burleigh Headland National Park and, as Gemini Court Holiday Apartments is situated on the headland, it really is a stroll from your Burleigh accommodation to the entrance of the park. Wild, spectacular coastal scenery framed by dramatic volcanic columns and boulders leads you to a more tranquil pathway through rainforest and pandanus groves teeming with nature down to beautiful, sheltered Echo Beach on the banks of Tallebudgera Creek. A hidden gem, known only to locals, take your kids for a play in the shaded, sandy area and a swim in the creek.
North Burleigh and Miami
North Burleigh beach is a charming, patrolled beach also framed by a headland offering wonderful views. Over the headland is a cute cafe and quieter Miami beach.
