Whale watchingThe annual migration of the humpback whale is happening right now until the end of October. There are a number of different tour companies – a number of them leave from the Gold Coast Spit. Alternatively you can head down to Byron for the day as there are a number of tours departing there regularly. Be sure to shop around as there are always deals on, and they offer a variety of experiences. Some will be more private on smaller vessels, others are on larger vessels and are full service with lunch provided, so you can choose an option that suits your family and budget best.

The Gold Coast is well known for its surfer lifestyle, so why not learn from some of the best and tick one more thing off your bucket list. surfingSurf lessons and board hire shops are located near almost every beach on the coast. It’s recommended that you book as the classes often fill up, especially as the weather heats up. It’s worth checking in at reception to see if we have any specials on offer while you’re staying, otherwise we can point you to the closest schools and hire shops.
