Barefoot bowls – Swell Festival – Gold Coast Summer Style

The Burleigh Headland is an iconic surf beach, with a number of internationally recognised surf events taking place at this location. It’s the place youngsters learn to surf, and the pro’s go to catch a wave or two. If you’ve wanted to try surfing there is no better place to catch your first wave. There are a number of surf skills that operate – so be sure to check at reception to see if we have any specials running when you come to visit. Additionally, the pro will provide a suitable warm up for some of the best waterborne competitors in the world ahead of their Quiksilver and Roxy Pro appearances later in the year, with $15,000 and qualifying points up for grabs.

Broadcast internationally to a legion of surfing fans, the Burleigh Pro will be the first qualifying event on the World Surf League calendar.

Held directly opposite the town’s popular CBD dining district, the free event will be held at Burleigh headland. Expect gorgeous views of the Surfers Paradise skyline, particularly at dawn or dusk.
