If you want a relaxing beach side holiday, with a national park, beach and creek (depending on whether you like waves or calm water), and dozens of restaurants to choose from, Burleigh is the place to be.

Plus there is always something happening around Burleigh Heads, and this month we had the Swell Festival and Saltfest Surf Festival. That’s the great thing about the coast, there is always a big event on each month – if not a handful of them. So you’ll always have something to do.

Burleigh is one of the most unique beaches on the coast as it has its own national park on the headland. So you can laze on the sand soaking up some sunshine, go for a swim or a surf, or walk around the headland exploring through nature.

There are 3 levels of walkways, burleigh national park signthe lazy stroll around the headland, a slightly more difficult walk where you can catch glimpse of the coastline, and a harder walk with a lookout. At a slow pace, most would be able to do all 3 as they aren’t too long or steep (just a few stairs) – plus the views are spectacular.

While you’re there, why not head around the headland to Tallebudgera creek for a more peaceful swim, popular with families as you can get away from the waves and play in the water – plus if you’re lucky you might even spot some dolphins.

If you want to explore, why not hire a kayak or stand up paddle board and explore Tallebudgera creek – Tallebudgera creek kayakit’s can be a bit of a workout, but it’s a lot of fun checking out a few of the rivers, claim a sandbank for yourself and have a laugh – just make sure you watch the tide as the current can get quite strong at certain times of the day.

We can’t all make it to Germany, so why not head to Surfers Paradise for Oktoberfest Surfers Paradise held at the Bavarian Haus. Featuring it’s own Oktoberfest band (The Huns), German beers on tab, and a range of German food. The event will be held on the 7th of October at  5:30pm. Plus, tickets are only $8 if you buy them now. They will slowly increase in price as we get closer to the event, octoberfestbut even if you buy them at the door they’ll only be $20 each. So get your Lederhose and Dirndl’s ready and enjoy the atmosphere. You can purchase tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/oktoberfest-surfers-paradise-tickets-37868123577?aff=es2
