Surf club dining North Burleigh – May June Burleigh Special Accommodation

There is still time to book an Easter holiday on the Gold Coast. Why not spend the holiday lazing by the beach, getting your adrenaline fix at a local theme park, explore the hinterland or just relax and eat your way through the local restaurants these the local holidays.

Gemini Court Easter EggsDid you know that Easter Eggs come from early traditions where chicken eggs (or even ostrich eggs) were painted? We have since grown accustomed to the foil wrapped chocolate eggs.

The egg has always been a symbol of fertility and rebirth, and in Christianity is it used to symbolise the empty tomb from Jesus’ rebirth.  There is also a legend that Mary Magdalene was making eggs when she went to visit the tomb, and those eggs turned bright red when she saw that Jesus had risen – which is why they now come in such a variety of colours when you’re at the supermarket.

A common Easter tradition is to pain and decorate eggs, so why not try something a little different this Easter and try painting or decorating eggs instead of just eating them. Make sure you empty them first by poking a hole in the top and bottom with a pin and gently blowing the contents out.

March Blog Gemini BreakfastOne of the most popular places to dine on the Gold Coast is at one of the many local surf clubs. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they often offer the best views on the coast.

Burleigh is lucky to have two, one at the northern end and one at the southern end.

The North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club is at little less popular, but that’s half of its charm. It’s out of the way, and visited most often by the locals. You can enjoy see Miami hill and the ocean from most seats. Why not enjoy a Sunday sesh with a range of live music, stunning views or come in on Thursdays for Schnitzel night?

The south Burleigh club is simply known as The Burleigh Heads Surf Club and is located in the heart of town. This two-story building gives you the best views, especially if you can grab a seat on the balcony. It also has a March Blog Gemini Sunrisebeachside kiosk for a quick serve of fish and chips or an ice cream to eat out on the sand. There is also a sports bar for those who want to cheer on their favourite team with a cold beer in hand.

If you’ve hit all the restaurants in Burleigh, why not head to the Tallebudgerra Surf Club, just a short walk across the headland from Gemini Court.  They have a buffet breakfast available on weekends from 8-10:30am starting at just $14.50 a head. Who can say no to that?

If you were lucky enough to be on the coast this month, hopefully you had a chance to check out Bleach festival, which may still have a few events to go depending on your travel times, saw the Sand Sculpting Championships and the incredibly craftsmanship of all those who entered and displayed their creations or were there to support those in the Gold Coast Relay for Life.

To book a short stay at Gemini Court, located in the heart of Burleigh, or to book accommodation for your annual holiday or business trip, call (07) 5576 0300, or check out our website.

Fishing GC

Depending on your budget and the company you select you may even get to cook what you catch or simply enjoy a delicious seafood lunch while on board. At this time of year you won’t see any whales, but there is always plenty of wild life, you might spot a pod of dolphins, a shark or even a turtle – hopefully not all at once. There is nothing quite like the thrill of a big catch or battling with friends to see who catches the most.

If you were lucky enough to be in town this last month, hopefully you were able to check out the Quicksilver and Roxy Pro and went to see the Sand Safari exhibition. To book a short stay at Gemini Court, located in the heart of Burleigh, or to book accommodation for your annual holiday or business trip, call (07) 5576 0300, or check out our website www.geminicourt.com.au

Mt Tamborine Skywalk
For a truly spectacular view, why not walk the Mt Tamborine Skywalk. It’ll take you around 45 mins for this easy walk featuring 300 meters of steel bridges through the highest parts of the canopy, a 40 metre lookout that soars a breathtaking 30 metres above the creek and forest. The walk is 1.5kms and also features sections along the forest floor – it’s a fairly easy stroll through the forest so will suit most fitness levels.

There are so many different tracks to walk, you can have a lazy stroll to a look out, or enjoy a full hike. There is something to suit everyone.

Glow Worms
While you’re up in the mountains why not check out the Glow Worms? There are two options, you can view them in their natural habitat at Natural Bridge – you’ll want to bring a torch and sturdy shoes as it gets very dark and there are plenty of stairs. You’ll need to visit at night and there are tours that can take you.
