There is still time to book an Easter holiday on the Gold Coast. Why not spend the holiday lazing by the beach, getting your adrenaline fix at a local theme park, explore the hinterland or just relax and eat your way through the local restaurants these the local holidays.

Gemini Court Easter EggsDid you know that Easter Eggs come from early traditions where chicken eggs (or even ostrich eggs) were painted? We have since grown accustomed to the foil wrapped chocolate eggs.

The egg has always been a symbol of fertility and rebirth, and in Christianity is it used to symbolise the empty tomb from Jesus’ rebirth.  There is also a legend that Mary Magdalene was making eggs when she went to visit the tomb, and those eggs turned bright red when she saw that Jesus had risen – which is why they now come in such a variety of colours when you’re at the supermarket.

Varsity Daze:
This free art installation features three giant illuminated humanoids, set to the soundtrack of The Ruiins, TH’FIKA and Austen challenges our notion of scale and our role in the environment. Not only is it beautiful from a design perspective, it will also get you thinking.

Here I Am!:
A combination of two stunning art and play spaces for kids and their families. Split into two sections, the first allows children to become architects and urban planners, while the second is a softer landscape to allow them to dream and use their imagination. The installation encourages kids to think about the type of place they want to live. It’s entirely free, and is able to be accessed throughout the entire festival.
